Hello Folks,
I've just finished my second module (Assult on Blacktooth Ridge) and so I picked up the Yggsburgh campaign book. To anyone who has the book and is running a campaign that is leading towards the archmage's tower; any ideas on how to connect the two (Yggsburgh and the castle itself)?

I'm doing Assault on Blacktooth Ridge now, but I have a couple of hooks out there for the PCs to go that way if they want. I worked one of the Players for his PCs background (a fighter) that he had been a men-at-arms for one of the Knights of Yggsburgh. He'd only been to Yggsburgh itself once pulling guard duty, the remainder of the time was in the outlying villages and the Knights manor, so that gives him reason to return either (1) to visit his 'old' stomping grounds (2) a call from his old liege (3) problems in his 'hometown' (4) explore the wonderous city he only briefly visited - any of this could then put PCs on the path to Zagyg.
But for something more concrete: (NOTE: SPOILER ALERT ON Dark Chateau)
1. Someone around here in the Forums had a good idea about having an old gold coins that were minted with Zagyg's face on it or something and their PCs discovered it amongst the Assualt on Blacktooth Ridge (IIRC amongst some dispatched goblin's loot) It would be of interest to a Sage or Antiquities dealer in Yggsburgh, which could lead to the sage/dealer telling the PCs about the Castle Zagyg or his old residence at the Dark Chateau.
2. In the Dark Chateau, there is a tribe of Goblins that is wanted for plaguing a certain area near the Zagyg's former residence called the 'Skull-Gnashers.' The PCs on the way to Yggsburgh, could rest in town and see the wanted poster or hear of it from traveling merchants, the Sheriff or men-at-arms as they've been infamous for raids on farms and caravans. Their symbol is a Black Skull with Red Teeth. As your players have done Blacktooth their familiar with the RedCaps. You might sprinkle in a few converations about this other group of Goblins. They may decide to seek them out. The whole tribe was wiped out in the Chateau, but a shield remains with the symbol if the PCs find it they can claim the Tribe has been wiped out.
3. There are two goblin tribes that have been causing problems (actually a result of Mage Guild intrigue and Zagyg). Have them catch one of the goblins or overhear them talking about the 'Big Hut' or 'lair of the Demon Summoing Wizard' This will get them to the Dark Chateau or at least will have the players inquire with NPCs on what it is.
4. Mage Guild hires the players to investigate the Dark Chateau. Which in turn should intrigue them enough to go to the Castle. Of course they'll be working for someone intending to undermine and work against Zagyg, but hey that's cool. They just don't need to know that.
