Old-school dice-
What's your poison?
For me, I have a scattering of dice from old D&D box sets, including a full set from an old brown-box OD&D set. I have two full sets of Gamescience dice (my dice of choice)- one opaque green, the other gemstone green (in memory of my first set of dice back in 1981), and I have a bunch of Flying Buffalo skull dice to help round out my old-school dice bag.

I don't use my old dice anymore, not because I don't want to, but because they are wearing down and its getting mucho-hard to read them. That'll teach me to play nearly everyday for something like 4 years (high school was such a waste of time...)
Any time you can break out an improvised game of D&D in the back row of science class means that it can't all have been a waste.
I'm not into "collecting dice", even though I have used the same d20's (a grey and a blue) for over 15 years. Other than those two I don't care what dice I am using.
A serious dice collector both Ser and I know from the Necromancer boards. His on-line name is "Sen the Collector". He bought some serious dice at GenCon, such as a synthetic opal set and a quartz set with pyrite rutiles (which I liked more because I collect such rocks), plus some real sweet looking dice from a place called Q-Workshop out of Poland.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I have a fair number of rocks like that, chunks of malachite, tiger iron, lapis, charoite, rainbow obsidian, sodalite, etc... that I really should turn into something "nicer", but I love the look of them as rocks.

I now forgot twice,

Man, I've such a hodge-podge collection of dice, it ain't even funny.
Lets see.
There is probably the random d10 from any number of FASA games I've had over the years.
There are the d6s that came in my MegaTraveller, 2300AD and Twilight 2000 game sets.
There are a few d10s which are from the White Wolf line (specifically, the purple Mage set for me, and plain, 'ol white for the peons).
The ugly-ass brown set of regular D&D dice(both in opaque and transluscent variety), which have been my mainstay dice for an untold number of years, were the only ones I specifically bought for gaming which didn't come from a box set. Why I got these ugly things, I'll never know.
The oddly high number of d20s I have came from sympathetic friends who witnessed my horrific rolling over and over again in one game(I swear, every third roll was a fumble) and who also witnessed me throwing the offending d20 into traffic. Being a sympathetic, but superstitious, lot they were more than happy to buy me more dice, but to not use their dice in fear that my bad mojo would rub off on their things.
In honor of my bad luck, they bought me more d20s just to be on the safe side.
The d100 came from somewhere, but danged if I know where.
I sometimes bandy the idea of actually getting a nice, new set of pretty dice, but it would be hard to justify the cost to myself, and to replace the history of what I have.

I have a set of crystal dice...two 8s, four 6s, three 4s, three 10s, one 12 and one twenty made of some hard composite polymer that I bought in 1982 and have used primarily since. They are not even scratched. Incredible. Of course, I have a big bag o' exotic, specialist, and other dice but those old crystal dice have been my workhorse dice since I bought them. They were expensive, too. From 3 bucks for the twenty down, and in 1982, mind. I remember being frustrated with how fast the polyhedrals that came in the rpgs of the time would wear out, so I bit the bullet. A set of dice that cost around $25, but they have been worth it. A bag full of polymer gems in blue, green, and red.

Some other pride and joy dice (not all are old-school)-
A percentile d20 set from first edition Paranoia (they never go out of style).
A pair of burnt orange translucent d20s that I bough loose about twenty years back- they glow a fiery orange-red in the light.
An orange Zocchihedron which my cat hates for some reason.
A clear set of Borealis dice- the spectrum shift in the light is quite nice.
An azure set of Dragon Bones from Crystal Caste- I use them for a modified game of Space 1889 using a hodgepodge of d20 Modern rules.
I have lots of other dice, but those are my clear favorites.

Welcome to the boards, Lisa.
Most of my dice have come from box sets, which I like to collect. My BD&D Blue Box dice have been losing specks from the numbers, but the d4 is still as sharp as ever.
My favorite set comes from Tweet's D&D Adventure Box - a beautiful multi-colored set with speckles in them.
For games, we use a basic dice set, but rotate d20s from various D&D miniature starter boxes.

I don't have many old dice; I still have a d4, 8 and 10 from my first D&D set, but the rest of my originals are long gone. I still have a freebie d10 from an issue of RPI, and a selection of odd dice I picked up from time to time to replace lost ones.
At the moment I primarily use an arctic Chesses set; nice and clear, and I like the Chessex d4s. I've got a few other sets from their range, too.
