What are the "core" needed books?

Post by CharlieRock »

I actually have a lot of questions about C&C.

I play a D&D3.x camapign (2 actually,we alternate DMs) and a mini-D&D:Basic (the old red box set) campaign. I find the basic rules are easier on my new players while my more experienced like the complexities of 3.x .

When I read about how C&C would be easy to play for old D&D players; which D&D are we talking about here? 3.x , AD&D (1st and 2 ed.) ,basic D&D ?

It wouldnt faze myself really ,since I played at one time or another almost every RPG that was out pre-1995. But why get a new system when I like the basic D&D ? I saw somewhere there is a Crusader magazine , Is that like Dragon? That rag makes itself pretty handy sometimes.Basic D&D is in my mind a retired game system in that there is no more "support" for it. Even when AD&D was out I could still get material for D&D.

Thanks for any helpful replies in advance.

Happy adventuring.
