Crusader Compilations

Post by Dagger »

I got my 12 days of Christmas Crusader Compilations in the mail yesterday. I've flipped through them and have to say they are extremely cool! Not only is every Crusader from 1-20 in those books, but they also include the covers.

I recently started my first subscription ever and it started with issue 21, so I didn't have a sense of how the magazine has evolved over the years. It's very apparent that this magazine has come a long way when you compare the first few issues to the new ones.

I ordered this, but haven't gotten it yet. I'm certainly looking forward to receiving. Glad to hear you liked it.

I'm debating on this one. I've got all the original issues but it might be nice to store them and use the compilation for reading. Thanks for the mini-review, that should make my choice a little easier.

Assuming the holidays don't wipe me out of course.

I was tempted by them... for about 2 minutes. Don't get me wrong, they are a great way to get them and have them on the shelf. For me, I had started collecting them in PDF format a couple of years ago, and recently got caught up (thanks to the PDF bundles). Having initially bought the magazines and then gotten the PDFs, it makes little sense for me to get them a third time.

A great deal for those who don't care for PDFs or rather have the abilitiy to flip through them though.

Mine arrived on Saturday. Haven't had a chance to do more than flip through them briefly (that snow didn't shovel itself!) but the production quality was very high. Mark did a really nice job with these.

They're also about 1" thick! Suitable to add +1 to the AC of the beleaguered CK in his or her hour of need.

It's cool to hear that there are color prints of the Crusader covers included.

I have not yet received the items I had asked the Troll Santa for, but I anticipiate these being cooler, and more stable than the originals which were a little flimsy and delicate. Now, hopefully, I'll be able to read them without thinking "oh, these are golden age comic books that might fall apart if I open them..." (not that they ever did, but that's not the point.)

Good point indeed. I think I'll either get these or start picking up the pdf copies. Now to decide.

Just got mine today. If their is a must have among the Troll goodies, this is it!! Very impressive. Only had time to finish the last article by Gary Gygax over lunch.
