PHB 4 print = sucess

Post by Ace of Swords »

Launched a new campaign last night.

Hand picked nondisruptive gamers to form the group.

(my last campaign ended very badly)

Rolled characters last night and the new class and half plus multiclass rules from the new print PHB were well recieved by all.

Everyone got to play the style of character they wanted.

A big plus for 2 members who are coming from a heavy 3.5 gaming background.

I allow the netbook of classes for C&C.

So we got some interesting classes from the group...

Druid, and a half Ranger (calling him a naturalist)

Monk and a half Wizard ( calling him Mystic)

Marksman, Rogue Multiclass (calling this one an Archer)

*Marksman is from the netbook, ranged weapon specialist*

Spellsword

*fighter/wizard from netbook

Cleric , My daughter is playing for the first time seriously in a game (shes 19)

Warrior (with a big axe) *this a girl who likes big axes...

generated and Started in Blacktooth ridge, they cleared Kringles lair and had blast.

The class and half and multiclass rules really add alot for the players.

I hope the CKG adds as much when it comes out. (cross fingers)

Forgive my ignorance (I'm a C&C noob) but what is this "netbook" you refer to?

Glad things got off to such a great start! And the new multi-class / class-and-a-half rules are very, very good.

Sounds great and those class and a half do look very good in the new printing.

I think the class and a half add alot of depth to the game that was missing.

Quoted for truth. It's going to be very useful for my one-on-one games.

For those Australians out there the "class-and-a-half" reminds me of Cadburys!

I agree with you. I like the chnage to the Barbarian. Also the slight chnage to the Monk was good. I to like the class and a half idea. All in all TLG did a great job.

Glad to hear all went well Ace. And I have to agree with all of the above, the 4th printing PHB is fantastic.

The 4th printing Barbarian is so brutally awesome. Absolute win.

I said it before and I'll say it again...the Class and a Half option is fantastic. For those who enjoy skill based systems and detest being restricted by class archtypes (therefore shunning d20 incarnations altogether), you can ease their minds a bit with this option. It really gives a wide open feel to customizing a character.

Agreed. If you add in the Adjunct rules previewed in the Crusader you can almost totally do away with those worries.
