Chuck Season 3

Post by CKDad »

I thought the third season got off to a butt-kicking start Sunday night and am looking forward to tonight's episode.

Also glad they've kept the cast (mostly) intact, though they're obviously saving some money by reducing the screen time of the secondary characters. Now, if NBC would only get a clue and stop putting it up against the juggernaut that is CBS' comedies on Monday...

another Chuck fan? I guess there are two of us!

I'm still waiting to see if the new direction (Chuck as uber-spy) holds my interest as much as the old one. But I admit to having enjoyed the first hour of the new season.

I was dissappointed in the first episode. I said to my self WTF. No way any self respecting man would walk way from Sarah simple to be a spy.

I am more than tired of the writers having Chuck decide to discuss his relationship with Sarah in the middle of freaking spy missions. He's supposed to be a very intelligent character. I grasp the distinction between intelligence and wisdom, but I just can't believe Chuck would repeatedly put many people's lives in danger so he can rehash his relationship one more time. Grr.

Yup. There are parts that are just silly stupid, IMO.

I'm worried that Chuck will lose it's charm since the original point of the show was how far he was from being a superspy.

I think the writers are well aware of that potential pitfall. However, as far back as the early days of season 1, they've said that the character will evolve, so I think we should expect that to happen. Even then, I think they have a good chance at keeping the spirit of the show.

BTW, anyone else of the opinion that the whole Jay Leno fiasco will work in Chuck's favor? I suspect NBC will be hungry for a) a scripted show with a proven fanbase, even though it may not make the money they'd like (cue rant about being stuck at 8 PM Monday) and b), NBC will be trying to rebuild it's image post-Leno.

I enjoyed Monday's episode, but then I'm a big Adam Baldwin fan and he was in the spot light more on Mon.

The whole where's the relationship going? plotline has been overused IMO.

I do hope Leno vacating will mean a bit leeway to allow Chuck to continue to evolve as a series.
