Here is where I will give the rundown of the game we are playing at OTC in Springfield Mo. The game serves two purposes: 1) to have some gaming time with others and 2) to show off C&C on campus.
Today was just rolling up characters and getting the rules down as well as setting up where the game is located. We decided on Airdhe with some changes. I have altered the timeline so that the Winter Dark wars were about 1300 years ago. This is to give some room for other things I want to add and to play off Unklar and his empire as more legendary and less known. We are using Yggsburgh in the northern part of Outremere and the characters all agreed on being crusaders that just entered the region.
Our next game is Thursday morning at 10 am. This is where the campaign begins. In the mean time I will be rolling up 4 pre-gens for any that want to drop in the game and try it out.

AD&D per se is as dead a system as Latin is a language, while the C&C game has much the same spirit and nearly the same mechanics. --Gary Gygax 8/16/06

This week we had our first session witch was just me as the CK and one player. We did have some lookers but no takers yet.
The session started with two new Crusaders arriving in Outremere. They were ordered to Colnmark to boost the area and left with a small unit. They were attacked three days out, the unit destroyed and scattered. The only known survivors were a Ranger and an Paladin.
They proceeded north to try to find other survivors or the raiding party. They came across a burning village where the raiding party had attacked and found two bodies. Goblins wearing blood red armor and blood red caps.Following the trail they came to a ridgeline where the goblins had holed up.
They ended up in a fight with the goblins which, after fighting well, was lost. In the end the characters were captured by the goblins and taken to the ridge hideout.
We were to have another session today but ended up working on some mass combat/skirmish rules that the new player had been working on.

The game has continued on but I have had little time to post. So, in a nutshell; We began running Rising Knight with the intent on moving to Blacktooth Ridge.
This was in hoped of talking my wife into the Umbrage Saga but I was nixed. However, I came up with some good ideas from the two mods and am going to run with that.
What to expect? Since this is not a game with my kids it will be darker in tone and will involve a full on version of Raven's Keep. Which, is not a nice place. Expect undead, demonic wizards, and the attempt of a forgotten lieutenant of the Horned One to rise as a new dark lord.

Rising Knight has continued with a twist or two. First the PC's found the ruins of Kuthrad Ondal but they were not as described as in the adventure. Outside were a few goblins that were easily dispatched and there was a dungeon entrance.
Entering the dungeon they soon found that whatever the place was it had been desecrated. They came upon rooms that had long dead elves impaled upon spears and fresh bodies stacked like cord wood. As well there were places that had a mysterious chanting in them.
The party continued on to find a group of four goblins being slaughtered by ghouls. When the fight was over the ghouls had killed all the goblins but perished at the paladins spear.
Continuing on the party found more goblins that told of them being sent here by Gritznack to find ancient unholy relics. The goblins had walked into a slaughter and renounced the gnoll and just wanted out. The Paladin agreed to help and began looking for the remaining goblins.
They found a hidden shrine of Unklar but the symbols of the horned god had been destroyed and replaced with an unknown infernal symbol. Finding this curios the paladin destroyed the shrine and then found a sacrificial room filled with zombies. Upon defeating them they found another goblin that had been eviscerated and a sacrificial dagger.
Later, they found a mural that depicted the fall of the horned one and the flight of two of his generals. One stayed in Aufstrag as a spirit the other fled east. In an adjoining room they found an old bedchamber with papers referring to Baelen Nakt.
Upon leaving the goblins pointed the party to the temple of Baelen Nakt and made them promise to kill Gritznack. The party agreed and went to the temple which they are now three rooms in.
Behind the scenes we are having a great time and may pick up two more players. As well we have agreed on some ideas that are becoming, what we have dubbed, the Otsee Variation. This includes my 4-step system ( found on my blog) standardized healing instead of random hp generation and a new way to give XP's.
Also we are partitioning parts of Aihrde to expand for our own campaigns. All in all this has been one of the most fun and rewarding games I have ran.
