Dear Troll Lords.....

What are the chances of you putting up a pdf bundle of the three 'core' books (PHB, MM, OG&M)? Discount it for bulk.

Have money, will buy.....

Hmm... there's already a bundle that includes the PHB, M&T, Character Record Sheets, and Lure of Delusion.

I'm thinking you'll see a 4th Crusade bundle once the CKG is done.

A little unknown fact about the Castle Keepers guide is that it is a clever marketing tool developed by Davis to get people to constantly talk about it, thus getting people to talk about C&C. The more people talk about C&C, the more people stop by. The more they stop by, the more likely they are to buy product. Thus far it has been very successful.

Heh...if that were only true, Peel. I would guess Davis (I thougth Steve was back on this?) is itching to get this done and out the door. If not for anything else other than the troll finally being off their back. Of course, I only speculate...

And I think it's been longer than 2 years, rob. I've been here about 2 years and the talk of the CKG was already, "mature."

I'm beginning to think the CKG is pure fiction.

I have actually thumbed through a mockup of the CKG and can attest that it is in the late stages of production. Steve and Davis are trying hard to get this product out there.

Who needs a CKG??

I have learned by playing C&C if I can play a game for 3 years without needing one, that I won't need one for the next 3 years.

TLG would be better served by scrapping the idea and publishing more support material...THAT I might actually buy.

The CKG will not be a rehash of the same ole' material on how to play the C&C game. Yeah, there might be a chapter or section devoted to this but the rest of the CKG covers a lot more NEW material for the C&C game. Adjuncts, skills systems, characters levels 12-24, NPCs, hirelings, etc, etc. Even though this book is called the Castle Keeper's Guide, I think there is going to be a lot of player material in there. The CKG WILL expand the scope of the C&C game in ways not yet seen.

It's going to be the bomb diggity.

Part of the book is optional rules and systems for PCs and campaigns. The other half is essays on how to apply historical context (the size of Middle Age cities and such) to a fantasy world.

I was one of a few people(at Egypt Wars in Illinois) who delayed Stephen's work on the CKG while discussing rpg's, South Park, politics(because we can't discuss it on the boards), and more South Park, etc. The CKG was allegedly on his laptop, but I didn't look closely. hehe
