A thought occured, do the monsters have to be from fantasy RPGs?

Cause i want to change my list if i can draw from other sources.

I liked the manticore, all the goblinoid races, lizardfolk (includes the yuan-ti), chimera, and undead. Zombies rawk!

1. Humans - No other race has such a great capacity for evil and cruelty. At least orcs and goblins and the like are expected to behave the way they do.

2. Monsters that I made up - these keep the players on their toes, and the players also have some fun trying to figure out how best to defeat them

3. Evil Wizards - they force the players think really hard before taking them on

4. The Gelatinous Cube - it cannot be reasoned with, feels no pain or mercy

5. Ghosts - they aren't necessarily in direct opposition with the players, but they will always be pretty dang scary if you use them well

1. Ghouls - creepy and dangerous even to higher level parties b/c paralysis

2. Goblins - weak but clever, and mean

3. Ogres - strong but dumb, and mean

4. Mid-level undead - wights, wraiths, banshees ... just punishment for grave-robbers

5. Wyverns - more classy than dragons

Thanks. I adapted the Adhererer and Needlemen to C&C. They're bad-ass!
