His Story

It was the coldest of the winter nights and Janel Darkholme had been standing outside in the cold with her new born, Marcus. Her brother, Nathan Darkholme, the Lord of Darkholme manor would not give her entrance. The guards at the gate barring her entrance. Janel bore a child out of wedlock from an stranger. The child was borndifferent.

For the shame she put upon the family Lord Darkholme was going to make her wait.

It was two days before the storm broke and hardness that had taken the Lords heart had lifted. But it was too late. Janel was found outside the castle frozen to death. Her blue lips parted just enough as if she was going to gasp one last pled.

Swaddled in a blanket, protected by his mothers body was the baby Marcus. To the surprise of everyone the baby seemed to have suffered no ill effects except for not having eaten in days.

Feeling guilty, Lord Darkholme took in the child. A decision he would not live to regret.

The child grew up in the castle, with most being afraid of him. Only a few servants and the family royal Illusionist were his only companions. During the day Marcus seemed like any other normal boy though he was very shy and reserved and suffered from light headedness when in bright day light. At night though his true heritage showed. Marcus was cat like being able to move about in complete darkness and the very shadows around him seem to move on their own. Occasionally some would swear that Marcuss shadow was not his own but that of a demons .

In secret the Illusionist Tasen taught Marcus the art of Illusion.

All his life Marcus was told that his mother and father were killed when the carriage they were riding was overturned in an accident. But when he turned 18, Tasen felt the boy should know the truth.

Marcus was angry. The tyrant that belittle him day in and day out. The man that made him feel like less than a servant in his own ancestral home was the cause of his mothers death.

At dinner one night Marcus poisoned his uncle with a recipe he had learned in his dealings with magic and the sciences . None suspected, or at least would never say outright. Being the only heir, Marcus left his ancestral lands and set off to find the history of who he is and to find his father. While he knows that he has demonic blood running through his veins, he wonders if his father knows of his own heritage.

Marcus appears as a very handsome Youngman in his 20s with dark, curly hair and features. He tends to dress in black, and is very quiet, sitting back observing before he chimes in on any discussion. Its only at night when his eyes grow almost cat like and his shadow starts moving on its own does his true nature show its self.

Lets try this. Also looking at it in the book multi classing works differently. So I guess He would have to be something like 5th level assassian/5th level illusionist.

You could adapt the class and a half rules to fit your level 5/1 idea.
