I'm a Star Trek fan, and I still voted for Buck Rogers. A World War I veteran unafraid to mix it up against the Han, and using his brains while at it to change the world? Captain Kirk may come out on top against the big bad of the week, but he is also easily seduced by anything with T&A, regardless of color. Flash just didn't seem to be nearly as cerebral as the other two.

Buck Rogers...he's got Twiki on his side and just as many hot babes and improbable wins as Kirk.

Boy...if Marvin the Martian were included, he'd clean 'em all up.

I still haven't decided. Flash would be out in the first few minutes but, when it comes down between Kirk and Buck I can't decide. I pretty fond of both Kirk and the TV series Buck so I was thinking him vs Kirk.

I thought of having it a 4 on 4 match with Han Solo as the 4th man but I didn't think that was fair.

Flash Gordon all the way. Do not base his exploits from the movie, rather from the comic strip. He was extremely badass.

Julian, Han Solo may not have been a good choice. John Carter though...different story.

I finally decided. I went with Buck but it was more of a tie between him and Kirk. I just tossed a coin and Buck won.

See what I mean?! He gets his butt kicked, but still wins; then, he gets the nookie as well! Can't beat that!

Well, if you compare them all at their height, Kirk has the Enterprise, Buck Rogers never really reached any point of ending in the strips, but he had a fairly badass on again/off again allies. Flash Gordon had his own planet.

If you put them all in a pit together and tell them to fight it out, Anthony "Buck" Rogers was former US Air Corps but primarily shot his enemies with ray guns, Captain James T. Kirk has displayed Judo training and was barely able to defeat a Gorn in single combat, and Flash Gordon was a football player and has beat down dinosaurs with his bear hands.

The problem is that over all their incarnations there have been inconsistencies with their specifics. Therefore, if you only base the fight off of their skills from their initial incarnations, Flash Gordon quite clearly could take the other two in hand to hand combat.

Ship to ship? The Enterprise has anti-matter weaponry; easy win there.

Who would win in a shoot-out? Probably Buck Rogers, that was his thing.

I should get all the dork points.

Flash Gordon if he was played by Buster Crabbe (an Olympic athlete).

Plus he was a down-right violent brute. Watching the black and white serials is pretty funny as he frightens the rest of the cast constantly with his shaking them and charging around.

I think Flash wins because the Queen soundtrack accompanying him sends his foes looking for ear protection.
Also because I saw that movie about 100 times in the 80's.

I actually end up watching Flash Gordon about four or five times a year. I love that movie.

Even though I am a Trekkie. Based on the original characters, I would bet on Flash Gordon over the other two. The original Flash Gordon (Buster Crabbe) from the old serials could kick both of their butts!

I read up on Buster Crabbe a long time ago in Dominion Magazine (OOP, I think now) but they had an article about the Flash Gordon serials. They were talking about Buster Crabbe being really, really over eager to play the part and how he stomped around the set breaking stuff and scaring the extras. He supposedly really hurt one of the guys playing a beast man from the second or third episode.

I just think that's funny. A towering blonde olympic wrestler with a Boston accent powering around a set scaring the film crew with his violence.

I am weird, though.

While I am a huge fan of James T. Kirk, it's Buck Rogers all the way.
