The reapeating crossbow is real

Post by dutch206 »

Invented during the 4th century BCE, the repeating crossbow was perfected during the warring states period. It could hold ten bolts and had a rate of fire of one bolt per second:

Just so you know, this repeating crossbow was first designed to shoot at flocks of birds. Against anything in leather armor, they would laugh at the bolts and cut the shooter down.

I saw this on "weapons masters" a while back. They showed it as being fairly inaccurate, and prone to jamming.

Rgr, but if they used poison on the bolts (the show said as much, but I'm by no means an expert so take it with a grain of salt) and had a few dozen guys shooting at once, it could get ugly.

Thanks I needed a laugh!
