Random thought... what say some of us, like Go0g, clavis123, and whoever else, just creates our own M&T? it'd need art, though.

I'd like to see someone come up with another critter book.

with all the critters posted lately, it wouldn't take too much to make a small book methinks. It really boils down to what permissions and basic practicality.

I'm definably up for it.

Also, a cheer for the Gaze Hound. Somehow it strikes me as being at home in one of the "Dying Earth" novels. Which is a very good thing!

I'd be psyched to see that! You guys create some very cool critters!

Well in response to Robert's fantastic idea. I would certainly love to see and could even contribute to it in a variety of ways.

As a couple of you who I have spoken to before may know, I had an idea in mind for a new critter book. The title: "The Hunter's Bestiary" (tm). The goal was to include a minor selection of classic critters that didn't find a home in the current M&T as well as a host of new creatures. Beyond that, it was going to have a 'tool set' to easily modify existing ones, create interesting variations and even assist in the creation of new monsters.

I pitched the idea to John (Brave Halfling Publishing) some time ago prior to forming Arcana Creations and since then, my plate has gotten very full. At this juncture, I wouldn't start much work on it till near the end of this year but it would ideally be out sometime in 2011.

On the flipside, if Robert were to turn this around and look at the possibility of doing this through ACE, I would be ecstatic about that prospect as well. I would certainly be willing to contribute a few things for the project and be willing to lend a hand as well.

Just throwing it out there.
BTW -- I will be in chat later tonight (closer to 8 PM EST) if any of you want to throw ideas about.

Just as everybody has already known for a long time, let me reiterate: C&C needs another monster book. Yeah, we all know that with the dozens and dozens of monster books that have come ou for D&D, 3.5, etc. that there are more than enough... the problem is that who wants to convert, even on the fly? C&C NEEDS MORE MONSTERS! I think most fans would agree.

Good luck gentlemen.

I agree! It is a great critter. I look at the various monsters that gets put here once in a while and this one feels 'old school'. I like it.

No worries Robert. I've got two dozen critters at least I could toss in the pot...

An odd thought...good thing this puppy doesn't like legs, eh?
