How to join the Society?

Hello all - I'm a new member to these boards and to C&C. I've been getting some great advice in the general discussion thread about which books to purchase to get started, but I'd also like to join the Society. I went to the webpage and tried to join several weeks ago, but my name (and title) never showed up.

Should I try to join again? Or do I need to contact someone to look for my name? Frankly, it's been so long I can't even remember what title I used for the society!

If you went to the webpage and signed up, like as not it's simply real world issues slowing down processing of said application by the Squire. He gets quite busy through the year and only just recently got the applications processed and the rolls updated (see the squires summer update)

Sir Albrecht (Peter Schroeder)

The Talviak Explorer (Robocastle)

Sir Lee of Chester (MormonYoYoMan)

Sir Ragnar Savagewood, Baron of the Northern Wood (MrBaron)

Sir Freddikus (Fred)

Sir Drance the Bard (Drance)

The Axes (Sir) of the Grumbling Dwarves (Master Dwarf)

Sir Corrilwynn Caelcormac (Aaron Eugene Barclay

Several of those I just had real names and no "common message board name" so are you one of these (I can amend to make it clear you're Hedgeknight)

If not resubmit or email me at societysquire AT trolllord DOT com with the relevant info (real name, Society name selected, common board name, email)

Hey man - I'm on there, but I am mistakenly a "baron" - I had meant to be Sir Barsopp the Vigilant, but somehow I'm Baron Barsop the Vigilant.

Barsopp has two "p's" - what is the difference in titles? Does it matter? If so, I would prefer to go by the title of "Sir."

Hey Hedge -

I see you're there - yeah, actually that means you had to have joined the Society quite some time ago (like... a year ago?) because the heraldry above "Knight" were given out over the years based on numbers of members in groups as they were reported during registration, something that doesn't happen now (everyone starts at Knight - we hope to provide in-Society advancement in coming years). All titles above Knight were "grandfathered" in when that approach changed last year/beginning of this year.

Adding the honorific Sir but leaving you in the Baron category (i.e. "Sir Barsopp the Vigilant, Baron") would be the way to go, otherwise you give up the higher standing from previously.

I will make that change sometime today
