Here is a document of tables i use to convert D&D stuff into C&C.
EDIT: MERGED With C&C Rules Compilation Lite.

It is mostly based on this post http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/vie ... &sk=t&sd=a , with additions as i run into them. Any suggestions or additions are welcome.
Conversion Document
Thats pretty handy! It doesn't do things exactly like I do them, but definitely good, solid starting guidlines for someone just starting.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I convert stuff from many different sources.
D&D,AD&D, 2nd ed, 3/3.5, d20, and HackMaster.
A rule of thumb with hit dice I use for my conversions.
1/4 to 1/2 HD = d4 hd
1-1 HD = d6 hd
HD to HD+1 = d8
HD +2 to +3 =d10 hd
+4 or more to HD = d12 hd
Thanks, I see you round all partials and bonuses to the nearest hit die. A small problem with that. Let's say you convert a squirrel with a 1/4 d8 HD, and you round it to a d4. You now have a squirrel with the same HP as a Kobold. I'll add it as the creature becomes a giant version of the former monster. Also I compared some 3e monsters to the SRD versions, and they drop the bonuses to HD, so I'll add the rest for anything pre-3e.

Another general rule of thumb is that HD is based on the creature type:
Constructs get d10s
Extraplanar, dragons, and most undead have d12
Animals use d8.
Somewhere I think I go over this... maybe in Creature Crucible.
Those don't always stick for converting. Example: War Horses have d10s. Great document tho.
That is why it is a general rule, not an exact one. When converting from d20, the average HP of the AD&D counterpart was considered more important, and the amount of HD. So, a creature with an average of 32 HP, but with the attack ability of a 7 HD monster would need d8 (4.5 average x 7 = 31.5); if it were a weaker monster, it might use d12 to retain the same basic HP value but make it a 5 HD monster instead...

Yeah, like serl said, not all things covert exactly with a "Conversion Document." Just do what's best for you.
I'd have squirrels with more hit pints than kobolds, personally.
