M&T of Eriede

Post by Ace of Swords »

Finaly got my copy.

Very cool book some of the monsters are too world specific for my use, but the new creatures are a welcome addition.

However the magic items section... IS FREAKING COOL! Each one is like a mini relic. great back stories and powers.

Over all 'A" very nice product.

My only wish was for hard bound, but then i wish the same for of Gods and Monsters.

What is the difference between this book and the regular M&T? Why do I need both?

I guess that you don't need both, but if you play in Erde (Aihrde) then it I'm sure that it comes in handy.

It's no different than the old Monstrous Compendiums from 2nd Edition which were world specific. If I'm playing in Al-Qadim then I'd like the Al-Qadim monsters.

However, it's just nice to have a few new monsters which your players have never encountered to toss into a game. Even if you're not playing in Aihrde, I'm sure that you can find a few monsters which pique your interest.

You never have to take anything whole cloth. Much like RPG's,themselves you can pick and choose what you like and leave out what you don't. No need to run a strictly Aihrde campaign.

You don't need both unless you want some more cool monsters and cool magic items.

I only see some monsters too setting specific if your not willing to change some names to protect the innocent.

I would say that, in general, the M&T is of lower HD creatures, while the MTA gets a little crazy high on HD for higher level parties. Still, there is a great variety of weak to powerful creatures in MTA that are unique, have an organic, real feel to them, and with minor story changes, can fit into your own world. I prefer Airhde anway, so the book totally kicks ass for me in that department.
